Impressive so far!

Submitted by Impressed (Toronto, ON) on May, 2016

I'm 170 lbs male, over 40, and purchased this treadmill for weight loss and body toning. I also do weight training. I've been a Good Life member for a few years now and just recently cancelled due to more business travel. I'm very familiar with their equipment. I also attend their trade show annually.
I am happy with this purchase. At 60% off its very comparable to all the other brands. It feels solid and its big and hefty. The Touch Screen is a great option and bright. I haven't updated the software yet since I've only set it couple of days ago.
The running deck has a nice semi-soft (bounce) feel to it and its not as hard as the GoodLife treadmills. It's great for my knees and ankles. From years of playing squash they're pretty loose.
Overall, easy to assemble, easy to operate, looks great, I enjoy the touch screen, and the lifetime warranty on the motor is a great selling point!.
Be aware though, its close to 300 lbs so if your putting this machine in the basement make sure you get help.
I'll be checking in after a couple of months using it... :-)
No negatives so far.....

7.3AT User Review

Submitted by Alain (PORT COLBORNE, ON) on Nov, 2015

I have had this Treadmill for approx. 3 weeks.
Pros:
The build quality is excellent.
I like the handles in the front to hold on while running
Very easy to use as very few program features (could be a con for others)
Running belt looks well made
Reasonably quiet

Cons
Does not let you program you own routine. This would be a great function to have!
I use mostly the Fat Burn routine and it does not let you bypass the incline (see above)
The height if the tread platform from ground level is a problem for me (10 inches) since I really only had one location for it in my house. I would have liked it about 4 inches lower. Did not know this until a got it at home and installed.
For a touch screen monitor the programming feature are very limited.

Good, not great

October 29, 2014

" I did a fair bit of research and AFG was showing up all over the place as a decent brand. At full price this treadmill is ridiculously over priced, but at the sale price of 60% off it is right in the ball park of other treadmills like it. It was between this treadmill and the NordicTrack C970 when I finally made my purchase. My reason for choosing this treadmill was better warranty and my local CT store had it in stock.

I've had it only a few weeks now but here are my first impressions:
Assembly was easy and the machine seems really solid mechanically and all your basic buttons, heart monitor etc.. work well.
I am not impressed with the features available on it. The software/firmware on it really leave a lot to be desired, I will say if you don't expect any advanced features then it is very straight forward and easy to use, but if you think that the fancy screen means extra features, and information not available on other treadmills you will be very disappointed. you can get more information and options from treadmills still using the older monochrome screens than you can from this one.

I'm giving this a 3 because though it is mechanically sound, it leaves a lot to be desired on the features side. I think most main brand treadmills these days work quite well, I would not recommend this treadmill as for the price I expected a lot more from the full color touch screen. My hope is that AFG will take notice of it's lack luster features and release a new firmware for it. "
